The best memories are made outside. Why not start there?
That's what we asked ourselves when figuring out what to do with the new home we'd just moved into.
Problem was, nothing on the market matched what we wanted. Every shade option we found was steel, mass-produced, visually uninspiring, and built for a standard rectangle — and our outdoor space was anything but standard. It was an unusual size, and had more than a few awkward angles.
We could see it wasn't just our ‘tricky’ site
There was a gap. And as it turns out, we can’t resist one.
So we went all in —
With Gav’s 20+ years of engineering we built our own product from scratch: a boundary frame system designed to look like a louvre from the outside, fully glazed on the inside, and fully certified to meet building code (because yes — that’s important!).
Over the last decade, we've designed thousands of outdoor spaces across the Bay of Plenty and beyond.
But our roots stay local. In 2024 we bought our own purpose-built manufacturing facility in the Mount —where every structure is made. Our showroom sits right alongside it, so you can see the products up close.
We're a values-led engineering company,
and that means showing up for the Mount.
Whether that's fundraising for local causes or standing on the sideline at kids' sport on a Saturday.
Those same values drive everything we do for you, too — a truly personalised experience, from start to finish. There aren't many places where you sit down with the engineer designing your pergola and build it together, in person, on CAD technology! We love creating, we love innovating. But most of all, we love telling people “if it’s impossible, call us.”

Shannon's the one coordinating all the moving parts. She's built and sold multiple successful businesses and is big on innovation — forever inspiring the team to think differently. With two little ones of her own, knows what an incredible outdoor space is worth to a family, and makes sure every client feels seen and heard from day one.
Co-Founder // Lead Designer & Engineer
Tell Gavyn something can't be done and he'll take it as a personal challenge. A fully qualified precision engineer and CAD designer, he’s spent the last decade turning creative ideas into custom-made spaces across the Bay. He's across every project from first sketch to final install — meticulous about the details most people would never notice, and lives for the ‘step-back moment’ when it all comes together.
Production Manager
Karl's spent 20 years as a fabricator and auto electrician, and he brings that same precision to the workshop. He's the one balancing logistics, welding and fabrication across every project, calm under pressure and completely reliable. From first cut to final fit, he keeps the project running smoothly, on time, and to the highest standard.
Admin & Accounts
Ellen is the welcoming face of Archishade and the voice behind every call and email. You'll talk to her first, and she'll soon become the reassuring name you see popping up with project updates and next steps. She handles all the operations — the accounts, the admin, the scheduling — and ensures each project stays on track and every client enjoys a seamless, professional experience from first enquiry through to installation.
Fabricator & Installer
James is an experienced welder, fabricator, and installer — he works closely with Karl and Gavyn to ensure every Archi-Glaze pergola, outdoor structure, and outdoor blind system is built and installed to exacting standards. He's also the guy on site who brings the energy and skill that reassures every client they’re in safe hands.

A few things we’re stubborn about believe wholeheartedly

Visit our Mount Maunganui showroom to walk beneath full-sized pergolas, test the finishes and blinds yourself, and talk through your ideas with our design team.

Be the house everyone still comes home to
Shade, shelter, UV protection— those things matter. But Archishade isn't really in the shade business. Or the engineering business. We're in the lifestyle business.
We specialise in daily coffee outside, birthday candles that don't blow out in the wind, and making sure your house is the house everyone wants to gather at.
An Archishade space starts conversations. Everything else is just aluminium.
